Village Volunteers Keep Giving During Covid

Covid-19 has not stopped the volunteers from the Village at Kentlands and Lakelands from helping its members.  Village members are very appreciative that support keeps coming during these trying times.

Mina Parsat, a Village member in her eighties who lives alone, has been receiving support from the Village for more than four years.   “Especially now during Covid, the Village has been a godsend, because I have had weekly phone calls checking in on how I am doing, help with having groceries delivered and assistance in getting to doctor’s appointments.” Mina was also surprised and overjoyed by Village volunteer, Janet Mitchell, who planted flowers on Mina’s deck to celebrate Mina’s birthday.

People aged 60 and over are considered to be high risk populations for Covid-19.  Any support services that minimize exposure possibilities are important to keeping older people safe.

The Village is always looking for volunteers who will provide supports to people 55 and over who are aging in place. We also are always looking for new members who are interested in our virtual events, social activities and monthly newsletters.  You can download the membership form at https://villagekentlandslakelands.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=164835&module_id=353818.  Please consider donating to the Village at Kentlands and Lakelands if you would like to support our work ( https://bit.ly/2VXN4OG).
