Thank You, Village at Kentlands and Lakelands Volunteers
Another Great Year of Service to Our Community
This has been an unusual and challenging year for us all with the Covid19 pandemic. Yet, the spirit of volunteerism has been alive and well in our community, thanks to the hard work of the Village at Kentlands and Lakelands volunteers who assist others in need of help to successfully age in place. These volunteers have continued to generously give their time by driving neighbors to doctors, delivering groceries and pharmacy items, making check-in social phone calls, providing technology assistance, and holding Zoom events and activities.
During the last week of October, the Village will celebrate this spirit of “neighbors helping neighbors.” While this year’s celebration cannot be held in person as in the past, the Village will acknowledge its community of volunteers through thank you signs at neighborhood entrances, individual notes, gift bags and a special Zoom celebration including a toast honoring their service. If you know a Village volunteer, please share your appreciation for all they do to help their neighbors.
The Village at Kentlands and Lakelands, a program under the Kentlands Community Foundation, is a non-profit organization that provides support to those within our community over 55 years old who may need a little assistance to continue to age successfully within their homes. Like many Village programs across the country, our Village provides services, social connections and educational programs to older members within our community.
